Hasselblad 500cm Film Camera Kit + A12 Film Back + Zeiss Lens 80mm Planar

  

This is an excellent, rare, Hasselblad 500 C/M film camera with A12 film back (insert with numbers & spool), waist level finder, prism view finder, and superb Carl Zeiss 80mm f/2.8 Planar lens. The camera body serial number dates to 1972, the vintage era when focus rings used by Hasselblad were beefy and built out of steel. A variation of the 500 C/M was used by NASA for all their Gemini and Apollo missions. The sheer weight of the camera is a testament to its build quality and explains why this era Hasselblad 500 C/M is coveted by professional photographers. The A12 film back serial number dates it to 1976, America's bicentennial.

This Hasselblad 500 C/M camera is clean and in excellent cosmetic condition with minor wear. All dials, knobs, and levers work. The film advance lever works and sets the shutter, the shutter snaps. The Hasselblad 500 C/M produced from the mid to late 1950's through the early to mid 1990's was the third medium-format, single lens reflex camera (SLR) designed and produced in Sweden by Dr. Designed to capture 6cm x 6cm square images on 120 (12 exposures) or 220 (24 exposures) roll film.

The camera being offered dates to the earlier years of production, making it a rare find, indeed. The kit also includes a camera strap and a very nice Kenko HBF 2x Teleplus MC6 Teleconverter lens with lens case. Attached to the main lens is a nice Carl Zeiss B57 Proxar f=0.5 close up filter which will also be included with the kit. Also provided is (what i think is) the original Hasselblad accessory catalog (Braun North America, 55 Cambridge Parkway, Cambridge, Mass, 02142), a CONTAX Metal Hood 5 67/88 Ring not sure if it is actually for this camera but will be included - diameter looks appropriate...

And a vintage copy of the book, The Hasselblad Way - The Hasselblad Photographer's Companion c. From the back dust cover: This book, written by an experienced photographer intimately acquainted with the camera, does not start with fundamentals of photography. The book therefore assumes a certain basic knowledge and concentrates on the possibilities of the Hasselblad.

Its aim is not only to show the manipulation and working of the various Hasselblad models, but to give Hasselblad photographers an insight into some of the special fields in which this camera has found application from portraits and views to scientific photography, infra-red shooting, photomicrography and many other fields.
